Job Description

2nd shift $16-$23 per hour based on experience

Adjust and operate Lathes, Mills or Swiss CNC’s. Machine a variety of parts to close tolerances and finish requirements. Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor. Must be able to make own offsets, spot and change worn tooling, maintain coolant levels and lubrication levels on machines and barfeeders. Occasionally run special or short run jobs where standard and established machining practices are applied. May operate more than one machine and/or debur parts, cycles permitting. Work from drawings and routings. Use a variety of precision measuring instruments. Set ups are performed by others and work is subject to process and final inspection. Must debur parts properly and handle finished parts. Must maintain the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.

Required Skills:

  • Must be familiar with the basic machine functions in order to perform the tasks stated above.

  • Reading, writing, speaking, listening, arithmetic

  • Read blueprints, use basic and precision measuring instruments.

  • Must be able to work with lubricants, cutting fluids and coolants.

  • Able to lift, bend and use hand held equipment.
