Machine Shop Programmer/ Set-up Person

Job Title: Machine Shop Programmer/Set-up Person

•Read G and M code.

•Program CNC lathes and CNC mills using G and M code and Conversational language.

•Setup CNC lathe, CNC mills and adjust a wide variety of machines to produce a diversified line of parts having close dimensional and work quality requirement.

•Able to read/work from drawings, prints, setup and operating instructions, material specifications and production orders.

•Able to operate CNC lathes and CNC mills

•An understanding of geometric tolerances.

•Knowledge of inspection tools and gages.

•Make use of in-house resources to maintain, check and upgrade tools, fixtures and gauges.

•Keep records and inventories on tools, fixtures, coolants and other items to maintain efficient production.

•Assist supervisor in all phases of Department supervision, with the exception of hiring, firing or disciplining Machine Shop employees.

•Assist in instructing and training assigned operators in methods, operating procedures and checking work to include the selection of proper statistical tools to maintain process control and quality reliability.

•Able to work alone or on a team to accomplish daily tasks.

•Able to stand for eight hours a day

•Able to pick up and move parts up to 20 pounds apiece continuously for eight hours a day

•Able to perform physical, manual labor for eight hours a day

•Able to communicate effectively to co-workers and supervisory personnel clearly and concisely

•Fork lift experience a plus

Position is on 1st shift for the first three (3) months, after three (3) months it may transfer to an off shift. Starting hourly rate is $14.33 – $17.21 per hour.
