Electrical Machine Assembler/ Wirer - 1st shift, pay starting at $19.00+

The Electrical / Assembler Technician assembles fabricated parts to relatively large or heavy subassemblies and complete units. Test and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications. Uses hand tools and small power tools to assemble units. Wires electrical panels and machinery per electrical schematics. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.  Manual machine setup and operation of drill press, sheet metal shear, and grinders required to process assemblies.  Ability to work overtime to meet production schedule as needed. Ability to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis and stand/walk 95% of the day.

Responsibilities Electrical Machine Assembler/ Wirer

  • Work on unique products that are custom designed for specific applications, such as packaging machinery

  • assist others in installing electrical equipment such as large control panels, switch boards, junction boxes, switches, motors, etc.

  • Read and comprehend instructions and follow established procedures

  • Collect all material and equipment needed to begin the process

  • Take precision measurements to ensure perfect fit of components

  • Select or modify components according to measurements and specifications

  • Align material and put together parts to build more complex units

  • Check output to ensure highest quality

  • Maintain equipment in good condition

  • Keep records of production quantities and time

  • Report on issues, malfunction or defective part

  • The work will be doing involves frequent handling of moderate to heavy components and may include walking or standing most of the time

Requirements of an Electrical Machine Assembler/ Wirer

  • HS diploma

  • Ability to read blue prints

  • Proven experience as assembler

  • Technical knowledge and ability to read blueprints, electrical schematics drawings etc.

  • Use hand and power tools

  • Ability in using tools (e.g. clamps) and machines (e.g. presses)

  • Good understanding of quality control principles

  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical condition

  • High school diploma; Higher degree from a technical school will be appreciated

  • Lifting up to 50 pounds
