MAINTENANCE MECHANIC Powder Coatings Industry

$20-$24/hour, 3rd Shift M-F

*Training on First Shift for the first six months*

GENERAL FUNCTION: This direct hire Maintenance Mechanic provides full maintenance support for the entire facility.

DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

1)performs all-around maintenance work on a variety of systems and pieces of equipment to ensure proper operating functions of machinery. Ability to provide maintenance and repair on various types of building systems such as pipe-fitting, basic electrical, HVAC, etc., Ability to repair machines and equipment involving parts replacement and trouble shooting, Perform preventive maintenance on all assigned equipment.

2)Maintain company property to include work on buildings and grounds including snow removal.

3)Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations. Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Preferred education level: High school diploma or equivalent, with 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing/chemical industry. Basic math, computer skills and understanding of basic shop tools required, Forklift certification strongly preferred and the ability to use a pallet jack.

Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written, and able to receive and provide instructions in a positive manner. Willing to work in a team environment and contribute to group goals.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk or hear and move from place to place, occasionally sit, use foot/feet to operate machine, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and reach above shoulders. The employee is frequently required to stand and use hands to finger, handle or touch, and frequently lift and/or move up to approximately 50 pounds while performing duties relating to the production process. Examples of such duties include the handling of drums and containers. Personal Protection Equipment is required during various processes in the production area. Safety shoes, glasses, and flame retardant uniforms are required in the production area. Respirators and ear plugs may be required when performing certain production activities.
