Job Purpose:

Provide maintenance support for the production of quality products under efficient operations while maintaining a high general appearance of the company’s plant. Prepare for secondary production and provide preventative maintenance prior to plant start up each week. Available to cover for other Mechanic absenteeism if necessary.

Job Description:

Responsible for proper setup of machines, maintains and performs preventative maintenance, Adjust machines as needed to ensure quality and production standards are met. Perform building interior/exterior maintenance and repairs as needed. Maintains a detailed journal of all maintenance duties performed. Works safely and maintains a clean work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude

  • Ability to trouble shoot and repair electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical motion control systems.

  • Must be able to work any shift, weekends, and overtime as needed

  • Self motivated and self disciplined

  • Possesses a positive attitude

  • Forklift experience

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and write simple correspondence

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small groups

  • Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

  • Ability to lift 100 lbs.

  • Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders, verifying receipt.

  • Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.

  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.

  • Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.

  • Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs.

  • Comply with OSHA Safety and Health Rules

  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.

  • 1-2 years working in a plastic manufacturing environment preferred, but not mandatory.

  • 2 years of mechanical/machinery maintenance experience and/or education

  • High school diploma

  • Vocational training/Technical college degree is preferred

  • Good communication skills both oral and written.

  • Ability to work well with all levels of personnel.

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

  • Forklift licensed/certification

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time

  • Basic Math Skills
