General Responsibility:

The Procurement Manager will work to execute the global sourcing strategy while supporting productivity along with other key business metrics, new product development initiatives and the management of purchasing activities. Major internal customers within the business include associates from Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering and Sales. The position will work closely in collaboration with the Director of Operations to manage activities and categories as assigned. Additionally, the Procurement Manager will be responsible for developing and deploying best practice Sourcing/Purchasing processes and tools for use by the larger SOB group.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support development and execution of sourcing strategies that encompass the following:

    • Supplier assessments / on-boarding

    • Supplier rationalization / optimization

    • Optimized supply chain formulation & best cost

    • Responsible for supporting commercial activities with designated suppliers including but not limited to the following:

    • General commercial negotiations

    • Sourcing recommendations for NPD programs

    • Contract management

    • Product/ part / supplier qualification

    • Quotation preparation and negotiation activities

    • Quality/ regulatory compliance support

    • Accountable for supplier and commodity spend management and productivity generation, execution and tracking

    • Responsible for all Purchasing activities including identifying the demand need, determining the proper order qty to avoid out of stock situations and management of the purchase order from placement to receipt. Will work closely with the Purchasing Analyst to manage these tasks.

  • Accountable for utilizing the Supplier Scorecard to develop and improve supplier performance in the areas of quality, delivery, cost and responsiveness

  • Actively participate and serve as Project Manager in new product development teams while also serving as the primary liaison to the supply base

  • Support Supply Chain initiatives, including Lead Time Reduction, Order Quantity Reduction, Payment Terms extensions etc.

  • Vendor and part data management within the ERP system

  • Sourcing/Purchasing process improvement initiatives as designated by Director of Operations

Candidate’s integrity must be beyond reproach.


  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field

  • Three- five years’ experience in areas of sourcing, manufacturing, engineering, orsupply chain, preferably with previous global experience

  • Experience with international sourcing, sourcing in Asia

  • Experience sourcing machined/manufactured metal components, plastics, raw material metals, import finished goods is preferred
