The Shipping Supervisor will supervise processes and procedures in the shipping department. The Supervisor will provide direction to team members to ensure the safe and effective execution of daily workload, training of staff, handling of performance reviews, and department goal setting. Oversee all required functions for department including quality output of finished goods that meet and exceed company expectations; contribute to a culture of excellence that drives out unnecessary costs while minimizing waste and loss. As the first line of interaction with our valued employees, it is incumbent upon you to treat all with fairness and respect while maintaining a listening demeanor that ensures that relevant employee issues and needs are addressed.

  • Assign the Warehouse Team to meet required shipping and receiving schedules

  • Maintain inventory accuracy for all items stored in the warehouse

  • The Shipping Supervisor owns the processes that involve finished goods and outbound orders

  • Ensure received product from Production are verified and entered into inventory accurately

  • Monitors work performance of the Warehouse Team to ensure they are following procedures and meeting productivity expectations.

  • Create and maintain department safety goals

  • Recommending and implementing changes to procedures to improve efficiencies and accuracy

  • Establish productivity benchmarks for the shipping team

  • Resolves questions and inventory problems and then follow-through with implementation of improvements

  • Coordinate month end inventories

  • Provides supervision, training, scheduling, and guidance to shipping personnel

  • Holds the team and team members accountable for all policies and performance expectations.

  • Develops and cross trains the warehouse team to ensure warehouse can meet all expectations even if short handed.

  • Fosters positive working relationships through responding proactively to performance concerns, discipline, employee complaints, and other employee relations matters

  • Backs up the Transportation Supervisor and Materials Supervisor as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned


  • Minimum of 2 years previous experience supervising staff; Minimum of 5 years shipping, receiving, and warehouse experience

  • Good computer skills; Ability to drive a forklift

  • Strong Leadership and Team building skills. Demonstrated problem solving skills; Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work a flexible work schedule;

  • Change Management, Formal Problem Solving,

  • Team Building, Warehouse Experience in a Manufacturing Environment

  • Strong Leadership with evidence of developing people.

  • Adaptability and the ability to lead through a changing environment.

  • Analytical skills to be able to observe and crate Standard Processes and Metrics where none currently exist
