Technical Trainer

position would be doing the training on the production floor. I would say office time would be maybe 30% which would include updating paperwork, filing and providing feedback on progress.

This is not a Quality position necessarily although that background is good. We are looking for someone with machine operation experience that can come in, learn our machines, and train our employees.

The Technical Trainer is responsible for conducting training in the areas of production which could include training on job tasks, safety, and quality. The Technical Trainer will teach, coach, and monitor progress of employees while working alongside Human Resources and Operations staff. In this role he/she will be responsible for understanding the production needs.

This position will require someone who is independent, motivated and a strong communicator. This role will spend time assisting in the developing training materials as well as actively training employees on the floor and conducting audits between both plants. This position will be working in all departments and an expert on all operations and duties required of Company employees. This position will also work on continuous improvement initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work with Human Resources and Operations management on identifying operational training needs

• Assist with in the department with onboarding of new employees and employees who transfer to different departments

• Train employees in operational departments and on different shifts between plants

• Develop a variety of training materials and mediums, PowerPoint, Word Document, Training Video, etc.

• Understand the TWI method and use it to help provide the best and most consistent training to all employees

• Identify areas where improvement can be made and develop training accordingly

• Audit tasks being completed after training at designated frequency to validate and re-train if needed

• Work with Human Resources to define and revise Job Descriptions

• Partner with Supervisor and Human Resources on identifying employees who are potential rising stars or need additional training to stay in role

• Follow all Standard Operating & Manufacturing Procedures

• Follow all Safety, Food Safety, GMP and Quality rules and procedures

• Continuous improvement tasks as assigned

• Develop standard work or SOP as assigned

• Perform other duties as requested

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associates Degree or equivalent training related certification required

• Minimum of Two (2) years in a training role

• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience operating machines in a manufacturing environment

• MUST BE bilingual - Spanish and English

• Ability to demonstrate strong management, leadership, organizational and scheduling ability

• Ability to work in an ambiguous environment

• Strong verbal and written communication skills and basic math skills

• Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

• Food manufacturing experience preferred

*Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

The plant is between 38 °F – 45 °F. Steel toe shoes are required. Will also work in an office environment.
